Local Government Reorganisation in Lancashire has been paused for review. This is to make sure the process is robust, legally sound and aligned with its priorities.
As part of this review, the reorganisation proposals affecting Lancashire will be paused while further work is carried out. The Government has also confirmed that local elections in May 2027 will go ahead on existing council boundaries.
The Lancashire Combined County Authority has previously acknowledged the government’s decision on Local Government Reorganisation in Lancashire.
While the strategic role of the LCCA will be unaffected by LGR, we recognise that it will represent a significant change for our constituent councils and for local authorities across the county.
